Question and Answer session with SMART

Writer's picture: Lt. GutzwillerLt. Gutzwiller

Recently SMART has been completed a training module for our First Responder's and Community Partners, here are the Q and A sessions we have had with others regarding the presentation:

Q: Will SMART respond to locations like the transfer center if the call subject is homeless?

A: Yes, SMART's Co-Responder team will respond to any location in Summit County Colorado on calls for service. If that location is a tent in the national forest, we will be there!

Q: Will SMART accept referrals from community partners?

A: At this point our grant funding is tied to public safety calls for service, so calls through dispatch attach first responders who can generate an incident number and complete a referral. Any in progress events should go though Summit County 911 at (970)-668-8600 - If a community partner has someone they would like for SMART to contact, that is not is crisis, we can generate an incident number and build the referral for you when applicable. - The best way to get in touch with us in a non-emergent situation is by email @ smartinfo@summitcountyco.gov or by calling our office at 970-423-8922, please be advised these lines are not monitored 24/7, but as soon as someone is in the office we will receive the message and begin our follow up.
